Every writer—no matter how experienced they may be—feels the pressure of finding the right words to invigorate their manuscripts, to tell stories that resonate with readers and linger for a long time. In this 2-hour workshop you’ll be offered the opportunity to explore how etymology can enhance your writing across any and all genres. There will be a brief history lesson on the peculiarities of the English language, an opportunity to talk through some tried-and-true strategies for using words as springboards for inspiration, several generative exercises, and a parting gift involving revision.
